Producer and director of theater, music and documentaries, born in 1970 in Slovakia. Graduated at Arts Faculty JAMU, in Brno, Czech Republic, under Petra Scherhaufer orientation, in 1996. He works in several fields of art. In his artistic projects, Peter Serge Butko, in a side, collaborates with stars and celebrities, in another side, with alternative artists and/or amateurs.

SOCIETY AND CRIATIVITY

• Between 1998 and 2009, he worked as director and co producer, with the social organization Miret, artistic projects with gifted, young gipsies. One of these projects was at the documentary Black Star; www.miret.cz
• From 2005 to 2011, in co operation with the Torres Vedras Town Hall (Portugal), he performed art workshops in his projects connected to the gipsy minority;
• Between 2010 and 2011, he participated in an advertising campaign to the International Films Festival in Prague made by disabled people, “Film Festival Mental”, to which he made also jingles and TV commercials; mentalpower.cz
• In 2012 and in 2013, he was director and supervisor at the audio-visual department in the permanent exhibition “Witch Trials” and “Time Spiral” for the Ethnographic Museum in Jesenik, Czech Republic. Both exhibitions received the award Gloria Musaelis in 2013 and 2014;

MUSIC

• All of his projects (theater, films and exhibitions) are followed by original song, supervised by him. He worked with excellent, European musicians like Monkey Business, Iva Bittova, Roman Holý, Jiří Kadeřábek, Orchester Bandini, Jaroslav Zima, Vojtěch Dyk, Ida Kelarova, etc.;
• Between 2003 and 2007, co produced and supervised the International Gipsy Music Festival named “Gipsy CELEBRATION”, in the old castle Svojanov, in Czech Republic;
• In 2008, he was director and producer of the special concert “Iva Bittová and Ida Kelarová JAZZ”, at the most famous show hall in Prague, Lucerna Hall. At the same place, he produced and directed other 10 big concerts in which he connected artists from different musical styles in an original way;
• In 2015, he produced the International Music and Film Festival “SOUND OF SCREEN FESTIVAL”, in Serbia. Song bands from 12 European countries followed 12 mute films live. festsos.eu

• Since 2006, he collaborates regularly with Czech Television, to which he made more than 60 documentary films, in Czech Republic and abroad (Poland, Russia, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Belarus, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and others);
• Peter Serge Butko produced and directed 7 documentaries through the producer NEXT PICTURE.

THEATER

• Between 1996 and 2017, he was director and producer of more than 30 presentations in Czech Republic and more 15 presentations abroad;
• From 1994 to 2010, he presented with success his original theater performance “Romances Gitanes”, in Czech Republic and abroad (Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, Finland, Hungary, Portugal and Cape Verde). In 1999, Czech TV made a documentary about the show named “Children of the Moment”, in the same year such documentary won the award from the audience at TV Festival of Genoa, Italy;
• Since 1999, he is director and producer at the VHC Petrovec Theater, in Serbia. At such theater, he directed 6 theatrical performances, he produced a film festival and recorded 2 documentaries. His last performance at this theater, BIRDS IN THE HOUSE, is a remake of his famous performance “Romances Gitanes”. In this remake, he connects animations, film sequences and original song with pantomime and dolls. This work was chosen, in 2017, by the Argentina Culture Minister for a 2 months tour in Argentina. Another big tour was held in Brazil in 2018.
• As producer and director, he held, in 2010 an theatrical adaptation of the film “Pierrot le Fou” of Jean-Luc Godard, at La Fabrika – prestigious artistic space in Prague. In 2014, at same space, he made an adaptation multimedia of “Mario and the Magician” (Mario und der Zauberer), novel from Thomas Mann; lafabrika.cz
• He worked in many theaters in Czech Republic and in Slovakia. The most of his theatrical projects had a lot of success, staying on stage for many years and frequently surpassing 200 presentations. Peter Serge Butko also gives workshops focused in actor techniques (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Cape Verde, Portugal, Finland, Russia, Serbia, Brazil, etc.).
